A transatlantic open to all !
After having headed for Brazil for several years, the Rallye des Iles du Soleil has been heading since November 2017 from the Canaries to Marie-Galante, in Guadeloupe.
This new Transatlantic is open to all sailboats, monohulls and catamarans, over 10 meters.

Supervision and Security
The sailors of the Rally will enjoy the supervision of qualified weather, health and safety professionals in order to best guide them throughout their preparations and during the crossing of the Atlantic.
Clear reports sent daily by a marine weather specialist according to their position, an emergency doctor available at all times for the duration of navigation for remote consultations, useful advices and recommendations given by safety professionals at sea and many briefings before departure to learn more, The Rally des Iles du Soleil secures your transatlantic! A Cruise Director will also oversee the smooth running of the event.
Thinking also of those who remained on shore, there is a satellite tracking of each boat, news from the seas as well as an online map updated every four hours!
Breakfasts offered during stopovers, moments of relaxation and meetings every evening, receptions and organized parties, boaters can discover the different destinations in a unique atmosphere. Tourist visits, discoveries of landscapes and group activities are on the program to build friendships and promote mutual aid within the group! from la Palma to Marie-Galante
via the Cape Verde archipelago
The island of La Palma is ideally located to set off on this crossing to Marie-Galante, in the Islands of Guadeloupe. Then, head south towards Mindelo and Cape Verde where a stopover will be organized. Direction next to Marie-Galante which will be the destination of arrival for this Transatlantic which should be done in ideal downwind conditions, in the northeast trade winds . True authentic land, this island with a strong character is a wonderful and magical gateway to the Guadeloupe archipelago.

In La Palma, pontoon places will be specially reserved and offered to accommodate registered boats, several days before departure. Time needed to carry out security checks on board, welcome new team members, discover the Canary Islands ... On site, enjoy breakfasts every morning, a glass of friendship with all team members every evening, a crew party before departure, tourist visits and medical briefings, security, communication.
In Mindelo, get a discount on your place on the pontoon or a free anchorage in the bay. Optional tourist visits on the program, various activities and Special Evening.

Arrival at Marie-Galante is estimated at the end of November / beginning of December (depending on the category of boat). Count about thirty days of crossing on average, including the stopover in Cape Verde.
Note in your diaries that meetings between crews at the Nauticales de La Ciotat 2020 (from March 14 to 22) and at the Grand Pavois de La Rochelle 2020 (from Sept. 29 to Oct. 4) will be organized to promote the participants in this Transatlantic race, if they wish.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
Can I register with a 9.90m boat?
Perhaps. A request for an exemption from the organization is possible depending on the characteristics of the boats.
Can I participate alone on my boat?
Minimum 2 people on board! We do not allow solo sailing for security reasons. We must be at least 2 people on board (included in the registration price).
Do you provide weather information during the rally?
Yes, we will send a daily weather forecast for the area to the mail boxes of the boats. Participants who wish to have Grib files must be able to do so by themselves.
