CANARIES

For the third consecutive year, the start of the Rallye des Iles du Soleil, bound for Marie-Galante, will be given off the Island of La Palma, in the Canary Islands. Less known than the neighboring islands and far from the concrete stations, it has remained wilder and offers an invigorating landscape.

LANZAROTE

Home to imposing volcanoes, dense forests with prehistoric trees, thousand-year-old volcanoes, black sand beaches and a sky full of stars, the island of La Palma is aptly named "La Isla Bonita" (the pretty island). The list of its natural treasures is such that since 2002, all of its territory has been declared a biosphere reserve by Unesco. The island has long worked for sustainable and responsible tourism.

At the highest point of the island, at 2400m, is the Roque de Los Muchachos Observatory which is among the three best places in the world to observe the stars. La Palma brings together optimal climatic conditions with its exceptionally clear and limpid sky, to enjoy the awe-inspiring spectacle of the Milky Way. A “celestial” law was even passed to limit public lighting at night and preserve the sky.

ARRECIFE

Capitale de Lanzarote depuis 1852, Arrecife est une ville portuaire parsemée d'îlots et de récifs d'origine volcanique, située sur la côte Est de l'île. Dynamique tout au long de l'année, la vie culturelle y est très présente. Ainsi, vous pourrez visiter musées et édifices historiques comme les 2 forts destinés à protéger le port contre les invasions de pirates et de corsaires.

Sailors of the Rally meet each year for a week at Marina La Palma , in Santa Cruz de La Palma before setting sail for Cape Verde.

Marina La Palma , member of the Calero Marinas group which is a major partner of the Rally, is hosting the Rally for the third year and is located near the historic center and the shopping areas. With 180 berths, it has a 70-ton 'travelift' lifting device, a slipway and a petrol station, among others.

Participants have access to the Nautical Club, Real Nuevo Club Nautico which has an indoor swimming pool, an outdoor swimming pool and a gym. It is in this charming place that the crews evening, held in 2019, was organized and offered by Calero Marinas .
